Licorice is the unsung hero of the confectionery world! Dating back over 4000 years, there are more than 300 different compounds in licorice, some of which have antiviral and antimicrobial properties. In fact licorice root powder’s biggest use is actually with medicine and only it’s third biggest use being confectionery. Ancient clay tablets describe licorice as the “elixir of life” for it’s cure all characteristics. Unfortunately, modern methods of production are able to substitute synthetic substances for licorice that don’t have the same therapeutic benefits. Junee Licorice uses only certified organic licorice, maintaining the authentic taste and health benefits.
